Order Process flow in OMS

 Order Management System Life Cycle :


    


Different types of Orders in OMS for example : 

Web orders, sales orders, online orders(BOPIS and BOSS), transfer orders, purchase orders, etc..,

Transfer Orders : For example, if there are two stores, consider store A and Store B and if store A does have the product and store has the product in this case transfer order can be created to move the product from store B to Store A
   Transfer items from DC to DC, Store to store, DC to store within the org....

Purchase Order : For example, if the product is not available in store and it is only available at vendor, in this case purchase order can be created to buy the product from vendor and make it available to the customer.
   Physically store is not available within the org but we can fulfill it from outer/other org..

BOPIS(Buy online pickup in store orders) : Customer buy items online and decides to pick up their purchase at a store convenient to them.
  How does BOPIS works(store fulfills the online order) : if the item is in stock at the customer's chosen store, then a store associate can use an application to easily locate, pick and pack the order to hold for their customer and when the product is ready then the store associate will send an email or SMS notifications to the customer for letting them know that their product is ready for pickup.

BOSS(Buy online ship to store orders) : Taking an order and shipping it to store to fulfill, then the customer can have it shipped to their home or they can have it held in the store for them to pickup their order.

Sales orders : these are sent by suppliers to buyers after receiving a purchase order from the buyer, verifying details and the confirmation of the purchase the sales order details the item, qty, line price and etc....
Difference between the sales and the invoice :  Sales order is created to start a transaction i.e.., a customers wants to buy something. and the Invoice is created at the end of the transaction i.e.., the products and services are been delivered to the customer and now the payment is needed... 

Aged Order : Orders which are not picked up after certain days from ready for pickup.

Online >> Store >> Return in store    ----   BORIS
Online >> Store >> Delivery  ----   BOSS (Buy online ship from store)
Online >> Warehouse >> PickUp in store  ----  BOSS(Buy online ship to store)..

2. Web Call Center -- to perform modifications to the order

Invoicing

 Invoicing process involves typically in the settlement process of order life cycle Types of invoices :     1. Shipment Invoice     2.  Return Invoice     3. Credit Memo Invoice       4.  Debit Memo Invoice. 1. Shipment Invoicing occurs after the order has shipped, It initiates the collection process          Once the order is created in OMS, then the payment will be authorized i.e.., the particular order amount will be blocked from the credit card used, and once the order is shipped, then invoicing happens on the order. 2.
